Man shall not live by bread alone!

Days had gone by, mind was preoccupied with cares about earthly pleasures and pressures. From dawn to dusk, thoughts of future drawn my attention into being paranoid of the things I long for. Countless times spent, at the end of unfulfilled desire, found myself thwarted, worn-out, disappointed and unsatisfied. Until the Holy Spirit led me to the reality of God's Word. In Matthew 4:1-4 (NKJV). "Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." Noteworthy to take heart, Jesus is speaking about indisputable assuring Word that could deliver our soul and spirit. Both aspect had to be nourished by the Word so that we can act on things that are spiritual. Ephesians 6:10-18 (NKJV). It's essential. If the body dominates the soul and spirit, our desire tends to focus on things that are worldly and not heavenly. I remember the words from one of my mentor, a Nigerian Pastor, he said;  "You can never win physical battles. You will lose it. Fight it in spiritual way, then you will win it.". Unless our bodies submits to the Spirit of God our soul and spirit may remain bound. Lose our soul and spirit by spending time with the Word of God and prayer. Only then we can fight the good fight of faith and know the heart of God. Do remember, your ways are not God's neither your thoughts are His. The battle is the Lord's! 


“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” James 1:22 NIV 

You are precious in God's sight!

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. (Jeremiah 29:11-12)

How many times were you rejected, mocked, discouraged or even condemned by the people around you motivated by crooked principles? If I were to ask by far, at least fingers and toes on my hands and feet are not enough to mention such as much as I can remember. One morning, as I was heading to my workplace, one fella tried to mock me by saying “What kind of people are you? You always look so serious who is likely to be depressed most of the time!” At that instance, I began to renounce those words against me. And said to that fella, “No! You don’t know much about me. If you only knew me, then you would mock me no more.” I know at that time there was a battle rages in the air between good and evil. (Ephesians 6:10-12). On the evil side, the echoes of discouragement, hatred, harsh reprisal and self-pity tried to take a ground. On the good side, I've heard the voice saying to me, “Hansel, forgive that fella. You are precious in God’s sight. You were created into the likeness of God. You are My child. What the devil is throwing on you are all lies. I created you for My pleasure. You are My treasure. And I held on to that voice” After a while, unspeakable comfort from the embrace of the loving Father rescued me at that moment. The enemy’s attempt was put to nothing and shame because the Lover of my soul has won the battle. Peace and understanding brought me to the place of haven. To the Immovable Rock that’s higher than I, my Loving Savior - JESUS CHRIST! 

You are fearfully and wonderfully made!

Psalm 139: 13-18 

13 For You formed my inward parts;

         You covered me in my mother’s womb.
 ¹⁴ I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made
         Marvelous are Your works,
         And that my soul knows very well.

God has spoken to me

I woke up this morning sobbing and longing to get things right with God. There's a deep hunger in my heart to please Him in which I don't know where to start. Recently, I've been in struggle and spiritual battle about the sins of my past and yielded in again. In my dream, Sis Anna Walker and Sis Cecille Bas were talking about my current spiritual condition. Afterwards, Sis Anna started to speak about the causes of heaviness in me why God cannot use me effectively. And she intimately said to me "you know Hansel, it's the sin that caused your feeling to be away from God, confess your sins to Him." However, Sis Cecille was trying to explain something to Sis Anna when we were still part of the music ministry in the former Charismatic Group. Both fellow doesn't know each other's whereabouts and origin. Only two things in common and that is both of them are Christians and fellow believers from different Christian church. Then I realized that I have sinned and must confess it right away to God. O how can I thank the Lord, the Holy Spirit who keeps ministering me and convicting me to repentance so times of refreshing may come to revive me. What a grace of God who never fails to love me and lift me up showing me His unconditional love since I was still in my mother's womb. Who can fathom the depths of Your love O Father of my soul and spirit! I praise you my God! In Jesus Most Precious and Mighty Name! Amen.
